Butoh & Movement Workshops & Performance
Amber Patterson has been a practitioner of Yoga for 25 years and has been teaching for 16 years. Drawing on her background in dance and the performance arts Amber works with embodied movement and stillness practices that are inspired by many modalities including Classical Yoga, Contemporary Dance, Body Mind Centring, Zen meditation and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction techniques.
Syv Bruzeau trained under the guidance of Lee Rhizome and his Subbody Butoh method in the Himalayas. She completed additional trainings in New York City and Japan. Syv is the author of a newly released book “Standing Naked in Front of You”; a narrative reflection on facing cancer and the peak of fibromyalgia. Syv calls on her inspiration from introspective practices, meditation and nature. For both Syv and Amber the journey of Butoh and embodied movement practices are a re-discovering, a healing, a liberating and creative process. Together they offer an exciting chance to experience a series of interdisciplinary workshops that will explore the concepts of breath, being and memory.

ART & CRAFT
Gippsland Terra Aqua: Chis Kryzanowski
Painting: Chris’ art style is representational. He depicts events or scenes from the real world but abstracted to a degree or manipulated in some way so as to produce more intricate images.
His subject matter is largely derived from nature in the Victorian landscape. Chris uses both brush and palette knife to create his art, so his paintings are overlaid and textured. He uses a rich palette which gives additional life and depth to his canvas. He works with oils and acrylics on canvas and board.
Sculpture: The sculptural figures are representational – they are stylised forms of dancing glyphs, aesthetically pleasing, elongated shapes constructed with steel cores and resinous bodies. The finish to these works is of a metallic bronze coating.
The work for this Exhibition has taken over 12 months to assemble. Chris has previously exhibited drawings and ceramics, however this is his first exhibition of paintings and sculpture.

ART & CRAFT
“My main inspiration is landscape, especially the diverse landscapes of where I live in Gippsland. Underlying themes to my work include the passing of time, lost knowledge, environmental concerns and the weather, but I will often just paint what I simply ‘like’ and I am continually inspired by what is in my own ‘backyard’. This exhibition highlights some of my favourite places that I love to paint but also comments on our use and abuse of the environment and its resources.”

An exhibition by Andrea McCallum.
'I love working with natural fibres, especially silk and wool, with felt making and free-motion machine embroidery my preferred techniques. I also love the opportunities that silk organza offers.
Being able to transport the viewer through my photos of building facades to close up and distant water reflections, creates both a shallow and deep sense of space within one artwork. I am excited how different lighting conditions can change the impact of many of my artworks'.
