ENTERTAINMENT
The play Jasper Jones is the story of the disappearance of a teenage girl. In the fictitious mining town of Corrigan in the hot summer of 1965, adults in the town are gripped by fear for their children when the teenage daughter of the town’s mayor goes missing. As the long hot days follow the repercussions are felt by all.

Sue Lindsay, who is to direct this play, was drawn to it after reading the novel by Craig Silvey. The lively characters and resilience of the young people intrigued and inspired her.

Sandy Point Music Club presents
MICHAEL WAUGH AND GRETTA ZILLER

Michael Waugh gives a profound new voice to the Australian experience. His insightful storytelling cuts to the heart of everyday life. It is honest, emotionally brave and compelling in its beauty. He has been likened to the iconic Australian singer-songwriters Mick Thomas, Paul Kelly and John Williamson.

Waugh’s two critically acclaimed albums to date, “What We Might Be” and “The Asphalt & The Oval” drew on his experiences growing up in an East Gippsland dairy farming community. They resonated with audiences and connected him to a community of peers.

He performed at major festivals from Port Fairy to The Gympie Muster, won awards and earned lofty praise from some heavyweight critics.

The one, the only, how could there be another POKEY LA FARGE returns to Australia for solo performances, an environment where his inspired mix of country, blues, swing and folk really have the opportunity to shine.

Joining Pokey on his run of Australian shows is SIERRA FERRELL. A jingle-janglin gypsy tornado of sound that doesn’t seem to care what the rules are, Sierra seamlessly fuses old and new into something distinctly her own.

MUSIC
In October this year we will celebrate 35 years of this ground breaking entertainment institution which had its small beginnings on Saturday 29th September 1984 (Grand Final Day).
Four solo performers and one duo and a audience of about 40 fitted comfortably into the hall supper room, 3 poets and 2 vocals with guitars, no mikes or amp but an excellent night and worth looking at more in the future.

So, here we are in the future, in the main hall, moved in November 1969 out of necessity, new wizz-bang, sound system remotely controlled, 8 or 9 acts a large and non judgemental audience and some of the original helpers still on hand.
We have selected a wide range of new and old performers for this very special night, Avril will be MC

Please be seated early

MUSIC
Dr. Hernandez play an exotic tonic of roofsy electro-cumbia, soulful boogaloo and funky reggae. Bringing a new twist to these traditions, the band combines electronic beats & Hammond-infused grooves with a three-piece horn section, percussion and Sally Ford's soaring Spanish vocals. This is music for dancing, listening or just lounging. Guaranteed to be good for whatever ails you.

Bookings to 5662 9202 or sophied@southgippsland.vic.gov.au.
Limited seating, please book to ensure your place. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the performance.

The exhibition is a retrospective/survey of works by Prom Coast Arts members, so submitted works must be by past members of PCA. No entry fee.

After some twenty years Prom Coast Arts has called it a day. Nineteen members passed a motion to end incorporation at its AGM on July 10.
Our exact history is elusive but we were first incorporated in March 1999. Initially focused on the Foster area, PCA’s influence and activities have stretched the length of the Prom Coast and beyond.

To signify and celebrate the passing of Prom Coast Arts, all members past and present, are invited to participate in a final exhibition, ‘One Last Thing’, to be held at Stockyard Gallery from Thursday September 12 to Monday October 7.

The One Last Thing exhibition application form details condition of entry which is FREE to all past members. The opening on September 20 should be a hoot. Bring stories, bring art, bring yourself.
Exhibition 12 September to 7 October, daily 10am to 4pm
Opening event 20 September at 6pm. Delivery of works between 10am and 4pm, 10 September.

COMMUNITY
With a meticulous eye for detail Jason Parmington, from Inverloch, has designed 13 laser cut drums depicting a mix of Korumburra's history, patterns and text that have now been assembled and installed by local businesses. These 13 drums will be placed in various spots in Commercial Street.
We hope everyone will be intrigued by the concept of the drums, and our history and find the illumination to be stunning, as the images and patterns light up Korumburra.
