Prom Coast Discovery Tour
Hop on board a 7.8m RIB in the picturesque fishing village of Port Franklin. Cruise down the canals out to Corner Inlet then begin your discovery of the magnificent Wilsons Promontory coastline. Be enthralled with the scenery, watch for seals and dolphins and (weather permitting) enjoy the ride to Refuge Cove - the Prom's best kept secret. Disembark onto the pristine sands of the cove and explore on your own before returning to the boat for the scenic cruise back. Bookings essential.
|Children:||Yes, children are welcome.|
|Payment Types:||Cash, VISA, Mastercard|
|How long does a tour go for?:||A tour will go for 3.5 to 4 hours (depending on the wind and also if we stop to play with dolphins along the way).|
|How much does a tour cost?:||The cost is $130 per person. |
We can take a maximum of 6 people and require a minimum of 4 to run.
|What route does the tour take?:||Generally we would plan to cruise out through Corner Inlet along the Prom Coast past Rabbit Island, 5 Mile Beach, Sealers Cove and into Refuge Cove. Guests can disembark at Refuge. We can take the boat in fairly close but there may be a little water to contend with (knee/thigh level) depending on the tide.|
The only time we will have to change the course is in an easterly wind. This makes the seas out to Refuge Cove too rough. In these instances, we would tour around the coast inside Corner Inlet and up around the islands to Port Albert.
|What should I bring?:||Guests are advised to bring a spray jacket, even on a warm day, as the boat can whip up its own wind and it can get cool and in some conditions we are subject to some great spray off the waves. Sunscreen and sunglasses are a must and although hats are great, unless they have a tie underneath, we generally find we have to do a U turn and go and pick them up out of the water!|
Guests are welcome to bring along a picnic, snacks or drinks. We have an esky on board and little storage cupboards.
|Are bookings required?:||Bookings are essential as we also run the boat on high speed tours in Melbourne occasionally. We are very flexible and will do our very best to fit in a tour to suit your needs.|
