|About Us:||This vibrant new artspace on the road to Wilson's Promontory brings the number of permanent art galleries in Fish Creek (population 200) to six. Nearby Waratah Hills Vineyard also stages regular exhibitions.|
Housed in the bistro and smaller Oberon Room of the iconic Fish Creek Hotel, a wonderful recently-refurbished 1939 Art Deco building, the two artspaces offer wall-space free of charge to local artists. The focus is on large contemporary work. Exhibitions change on a seasonal basis, with individual artists' work alternating with group exhibitions and conceptual installations.
While the hotel offers excellent meals - lunch and dinner are available daily, and breakfast on weekends - visitors are welcome to pop in purely to see the art on display.
Quality accommodation is also available in traditional shared-bathroom format upstairs in the hotel itself, and tastefully-decorated ensuite motel units adjacent to the property.
There is a VLine bus stop directly in front of the hotel, and The Great Southern RailTrail is only metres away.
|Opening Hours:||Every day 11am till late|
